Santa Eulària des Riu
Beach
A relaxed, family-friendly town on Ibiza's east coast, known as the island's food capital, with a marina, a promenade and a hilltop church.
Santa Eulària des Riu, often written Santa Eulalia, is a calm, family-friendly town on the east coast of Ibiza and the island's main dining destination. It has a long seafront promenade, a marina, a town beach and the only river in the Balearic Islands. Above the town stands Puig de Missa, a white hilltop church. It is the quiet, refined alternative to the party resorts.

What Santa Eulària des Riu is known for
Santa Eulària is best known as the gastronomic heart of Ibiza, with more good restaurants than anywhere else on the island, many along the marina and on the old-town street locals call Restaurant Street. Its other landmark is Puig de Missa, a 16th-century fortified church on a hill above the town, with an ethnographic museum in an old farmhouse beside it. The town also has the only river in the Balearics, with a walking route that follows it past old mills and a Roman bridge. The palm-lined promenade, marina and town beach give it an easy, family-friendly feel.
Things to do in Santa Eulària des Riu
Eat well, first of all: book a table along the marina or on Restaurant Street and work through the island's best dining. Walk up to Puig de Missa for the views and the little museum, then follow the river route down to the sea. Stroll or cycle the long promenade, spend time on the town beach, and head out to the nearby hippy markets at Punta Arabí and Las Dalias on market days.
