Es Canar

A relaxed family beach resort on Ibiza's east coast, with three sandy beaches, a small harbour and the island's biggest hippy market.

Es Canar is a relaxed family resort on the east coast of Ibiza, just north of Santa Eulària. It has three sandy beaches within walking distance and a pretty little harbour. The mood is calm and easy, made for slow beach days. It is best known for the Punta Arabí hippy market, the oldest and largest on the island.

What Es Canar is known for

Es Canar is best known for two things: its beaches and its hippy market. The main Es Canar beach is a soft, sheltered crescent with calm, shallow water, good for families. Two more beaches sit nearby, Cala Nova and Cala Martina, both an easy walk away. At the south end of the bay is a small harbour where boat trips set off. Every Wednesday in summer, the Punta Arabí hippy market fills the grounds of a hotel just outside the resort. Founded in 1973, it is the oldest and largest market on Ibiza, with hundreds of stalls, food and live music.
